7 rules NOT to live by...

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Proverbs 6-7, 2 Corinthians 2

"These six things doth the LORD hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren." Proverbs 6:16‭-‬19

Listed above are 7 things that God hates as abominations to Him. Honestly, this blog could easily end right here! Although these things should strike us as obvious, we as humans tend to let emotions and impulses get the best of us sometimes, and some of these things do happen in our world, far more often than we'd like them to...it's as if the world's conscience is broken when look up the latest news...how could we ever sink to these levels? We need something, actually Someone, stronger than our conscience & stronger than our hearts...we need the Truth of our God!

"My son, keep my words, And lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; And my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, Write them upon the table of thine heart." Proverbs 7:1‭-‬3

If we write God's Word upon our hearts daily, then our hearts will be strong against the temptation to act out of anger & do something we regret! More God=more control over our reactions to things. That's why we must not only have them, but BIND them as the Scripture states! Our flesh is bound to us pretty tightly, but acting upon it's requests usually cause us to commit something on that list of abominations! So we must act on the Word of God!

"For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you." 2 Corinthians 2:4

These were the words of Paul, pleading with church at Corinth to stay on the righteous path...not to grieve them, but to show them how much he loves & cares for them...because in the end, if we don't follow God's ways, the world will cause US to be grieved! Let's stay on the righteous path, because God loves us & knows what's best for us!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
