Ask
Based on Numbers 26-28, Mark 8
Do we really understand how easy it is to come to Jesus? If we do receive an answer, are we quick to receive it, or do we think the world can offer something better? When it comes to Jesus, all you have to do is ask Him in prayer! Then, be ready to receive the answer He gives! Don't second-guess God!
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matthew 7:7.
This was true in the Old Testament and New...and Now! For example, the daughters of Zelophehad had no brothers to receive their father's inheritance, so they wanted to receive it. Instead of complaining (wanting change but doing nothing about it), they went straight to the man of God (Moses) who sought The Lord on the issue. Sure enough, a law was put in place to show the succession of the inheritance if there were no sons to receive it. God blesses those who are bold enough to ask!
"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them." Numbers 27:6-7.
Sometimes, we really don't understand the providing power of Jesus. We don't appreciate the time spent waiting on The Lord, so we place our trust elsewhere...we ask other people instead of asking the One who can do miracles! When we ask Jesus, the answer IS on its way! He may place people in our path who we CAN trust, but we will know that by seeking The Lord in prayer and not seeking what may seem like a "quick fix" or the "next best thing." Also, ask for His perfect will! That's always better than our fleshly motives!
"When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve. And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?" Mark 8:19-21.
This is something I have to work on for sure! I need to remind myself of His past miracles. I need to remember all the times He has provided for me. Then I will understand on a daily basis that simply asking Jesus is the most powerful thing we can do!

The Heart of the Struggle
