Help!

Based on Ecclesiastes 4-6, 2 Corinthians 12

"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up."

Ecclesiastes 4:9‭-‬10

God does not want us to rely on ourselves to make it through this life. I am so thankful to have a church family that helps us up when we are down! This weekend was truly a reflection of that. It was our 39th Anniversary service, and we were able to remember all those who have been there for us over the years...it was a truly emotional time, but in the best of ways! Sometimes "Help!" is the best thing you can say!

"Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:11‭-‬12

The church never leaves you out in the cold...there is always warmth, comfort & peace as we gather as The Body of Christ. And the reason they are such special people is because we have a special God, Who uses His church mightily to come to the aid of others!

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

When we resist help, we are resisting God! We are proclaiming that "We got this" instead of "I am alone, hurting & need a Friend!" Jesus is the friend closer than a brother, and He uses His church as a family to show us that!

"And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved." 2 Corinthians 12:15

We must be willing to not only let our guard down & accept help (and change), but we must also be willing to be bold enough to give it! In the end, it's better to be spent on people than riches! It's better to invest ourselves in the Kingdom of God than anything else!
