A Clean Slate

Based on Leviticus 11-12, Matthew 26:1-25

Have you ever tried something so many times, yet it just doesn't seem to work? I know we've all done it and said, "There must be another way!" Sometimes it's best to just start fresh with a new plan & a clean slate. That's what Jesus wants from us! When we see how unreliable it is to trust our own way with God, we must abandon all and trust in Him! We ourselves must be clean, pure, holy & ready for a reliable relationship with Him!

Jesus IS THE WAY! And not the other way, the ONLY WAY! Breaking bondage to what was and "coming clean" to Jesus allows us the opportunity to live a beautiful holy life with Him, just like the vessels in the Old Testament:

"And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed. And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it." Leviticus 11:32‭-‬33.

As people, we need to already be broken vessels to be cleaned out. If we are closed off to God's cleaning process, then we will stay frustrated with what's not working. Only a life with Jesus works out in the end! We need to repent, be baptized in Jesus' Name and receive the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in new tongues! We also need daily connection to Jesus and examination of our souls to really live a holy, clean life for Him!

"For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy."
Leviticus 11:44-45

When we do not fear coming clean to Jesus, knowing that He alone can make us truly clean from our past and give us a clean slate, then we can please Him. We won't betray Him if we are cleansed from self-will and come into His perfect Will! Judas was too concerned with his current state and dirty slate & soul. He allowed the love of money to overtake His love for Jesus:

"Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him."
Matthew 26:14‭-‬16

It's always better to do it God's Way! We are not alive in sin. We are dead. We need a clean slate in order to be alive in Christ!
