A Close Call

Bible Reading Today: Ruth 1-4

Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

It is truly a miracle how the book of Ruth came to be...we see God's plan unfold in such an interesting way! It was such a close call...and this phrase can be taken in a couple different ways! First of all, it was a close call because Ruth could have chosen to stay back like her sister-in-law Orpah. She could have stayed in Moab & not followed Naomi back to Bethlehem to live with God's people! Also, when she got there, the fact that Ruth found the one field of Boaz, the man she would soon marry, was a miracle as well! So many close calls...what if they didn't happen? Well, the course of history would have been changed! Ruth & Boaz gave birth to Obed, who was father to Jesse, who was father to David, and eventually Jesus! So many close calls, all because of one close call-being called closely to The Lord! When we are close to Jesus, He gives us a great plan & calling upon our lives...when we know it's of God, we don't have to worry-we can say the words of Ruth, and make a confident vow knowing The Lord will see us through! Have you experienced your close call today? Let's draw close to Jesus daily through these readings and through prayer to find out what it truly means to have a close call!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
