A Cloudy Day

Based on 2 Chronicles 4-6, Psalm 125

When the sky is dark & cloudy, we can only expect there to be rain. This can be an inconvenience at times, but the raining down of God's Spirit & presence is the best thing to ever happen! Think about it...rain causes things to grow. God's Spirit raining down upon us causes us to grow in spiritual maturity. We can't do it without His Holy Ghost! There always needs to be some clouds for some rain!

"It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord ; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord , saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God." 2 Chronicles 5:13‭-‬14.

God's presence WAS the cloud that filled Solomon's temple! And God's Holy Spirit is like a cloud that fills OUR temples, our bodies! When we come into a place of worship & praise to God, God wants to dwell in that place with us! In fact, He wants to dwell IN US! That's why we need the Holy Ghost. From the beginning of time, even before Solomon, God's design for humanity was a close connection-a loving relationship! How much closer can you get than to have Him with you all the time!?

Remember, Jesus did not rise from the dead yet, so His Spirit was not poured out in Solomon's time, but they did all they could do at that point in time to dwell in closeness with The Lord:

"Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers. When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them; Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance." 2 Chronicles 6:25‭-‬27.

SO LET IT RAIN!! Ask God to send the rain of His Spirit down upon you. You will speak in a heavenly language ONLY GOD can understand! Just like He made the clouds, the rain, and even us, He can create a new life in The Spirit for you!

"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:4.
