A Faith Fulfilled

Based on Galatians 2-3, Psalm 50

Paul makes it clear in his writings that the whole point of believing in God was never to make our flesh perfect, but to be perfected in our faith in the Spirit. Yes, with the Spirit of God living in us we can have more control over our carnal nature, but ultimately it's about trusting God, having faith, and following closely after Him. From Old to New Testament, Paul shows that the law was fulfilled by consistent faith. Without faith, there was no moving forward into the deeper promises of God!

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16

Faith is what carried everyone through their tough times. The law make keep us out of the valley, but it's faith which will carry us to our next mountain! It's all about faith being fulfilled as the law was followed. Our faith is not in the law. It's not in our flesh. It's in God alone!

"For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
Galatians 2:19‭-‬20

The Spirit of Jesus Christ inside of us helps us to achieve a level of faith that the law cannot! It's GOD IN US! God is fulfilling His original covenant He ordained through His law when we seek to receive His Spirit! I encourage you to continue to seek His Spirit with evidence of speaking in new tongues. It is part of our salvation & fulfills our faith!

"For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:27‭-‬29

Along with God's Spirit, we need to be baptized into the Bloodline! Into the covenant of promise! Again, it's salvational, and it's the next step in the faith which extends all the way back to Abraham!

"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." Galatians 3:16

When we are in Christ, we are fulfilling our faith! Christ is the reason for The Word; He is The Word (the law) made flesh! If we take the Old Testament without the New, we leave the story unfinished, and a faith unfulfilled!

"But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith." Galatians 3:11

We truly live when we follow God's Word in faith, not by habit or tradition. Faith along with works is genuine, but works alone with no faith is just obligation. We live The Word to please & honor God, not because we HAVE to!

"Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."
Psalms 50:13‭-‬15

Yes, at one point animal sacrifice was Biblically necessary-but God said He cannot consume what we offer. It's not about what's on the table-it's the heart behind the matter! Our ultimate form of worship is not in a physical sacrifice, but a sacrifice of praise, worship & adoration to God! Think about it...what's better...a random gift, or personalized words from a friend about why they love & care about us?

A gift is thoughtful, but the words live on in our minds! Those words are "thoughtfulness" fulfilled, being actual thoughts expressed, just as faith is fulfilled through our sacrifices of praise to God, and following His plan of salvation & life of holiness with a pure heart!
