A God Thing is a Good Thing
Based on Ephesians 5-6, Psalm 52
"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;"
Ephesians 5:19-20
When we sing & speak His Word, especially the songs & Psalms of praise, and we give thanks to The Lord, we feel good because HE IS GOOD! This life isn't just about feeling good, because this world has a warped understanding of that...society's idea of "feeling good" is temporary, carnal satisfaction...only experienced from circumstance to circumstance...but God's idea of feeling good sustains us and keeps us content in the Spirit through any time, good or bad! We can sing Psalms & praise God, even when our flesh is suffering! Even in a trial, He can give us a triumphant spirit! A God thing is a good thing!
"Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;"
Ephesians 5:24-25
This world also has a tainted view of authority-instead of a blessing, it's seen as a curse. But really, it's just another goodness of God! The Biblical authority structure is a model of the way Christ loves His church. It's a chain of connection which allows for their to be order in our daily lives! All people can pray to God, man or woman, but this order helps us to make good, godly decisions by going through our authority first. Everyone has someone to answer to, and most importantly, we all answer to God! His plan of structure is a God thing and a good thing for us!
"For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones."
Ephesians 5:29-30
When a husband & wife get married, they become one flesh. Even as Adam told Eve, "...This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." Genesis 2:23. When we become part of the Body & Bride of Christ, it's the same thing! We become part of His flesh & bones! We take on a Christ-like identity. God wants to have the closest bond with us...above any other person or any other thing...He loves us more than any other person can...that's God! That's good!
"With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free." Ephesians 6:7-8
With good will & a good spirit about us, we need to do good things! Remember, we are doing it for God, not for men. When we do things in expectation of something in return from others, we may be disappointed. But, when we do good things for others because of God's goodness, for His glory, we have true satisfaction & prosper in the end! We need to do all we can to show how good our God is through our actions. With that mindset, doing good never becomes old!
So many things in this passage stood out to me about the goodness of God, and that true goodness is only found in God alone! Nothing compares to Him. We need to let His goodness work in our lives and show it forth to others! God things are good things!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
