A Good Cry

Based on 2 Chronicles 13-14, John 12:1-26

There are sometimes no words to express how we truly feel. Especially for me, when I'm overflowing with emotion & it can't be expressed well with words, it all just turns to tears...I know I can be pretty sensitive at times! How about you?

For this reason, a good cry is sometimes a good solution...it provides a release...but beyond a tearful expression, there is a cry which is THE BEST solution-and that's a cry out to The Lord! When our cry isn't just emotional feeling, but an intentional calling out to God, He intervenes in our time of overwhelm!

"And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah." 2 Chronicles 13:14‭-‬15

The battle was before & behind Abijah. They were surrounded! But just like the wall of Jericho, a good cry unto The Lord and a good shout was just the call that God needed to hear! He stepped in and fought the battle for them! Jesus still wants to fight our battles today! We can't hold back a good cry to Him!

"Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers." 2 Chronicles 13:18

The ones who prevail, are victorious, conquer, and see abundant miracles are the ones who rely upon The Lord! The ones who are not afraid to cry out with every ounce of strength they have left! Even if tears come, and it's hard to speak at all, if we purpose ourselves to let our heart cry out to Him, He will answer!

"And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD , thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee." 2 Chronicles 14:11

Don't let the fear of the giant paralyze you! God is bigger than any problem we will face! Cry out to God about your problem, and see it turn into a miracle! It may take time, but daily reliance is key!

"On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord." John 12:12‭-‬13

After a cry out to The Lord in the midst of our problems & battles, we can then cry out in victory & celebration! HOSANNA! When we profess ourselves to be on The Lord's side with a cry of reliance to Him, we can expect to overcome every overwhelming situation!
