A Good Report

Reading of the Day: 2 Kings 18-20

2 Kings 19:14: And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

We've all had some bad news before...and sometimes, it seems like a season of it! One negative report after another rolls in, and soon we have a pile of stress in front of us...but we don't have to carry those things alone! In fact, we could change every bad report that comes in to a good one, if only we lay it before The Lord in prayer! That's exactly what king Hezekiah did! Finally, this king arises in Judah, and he tears down the high places, gets rid of the idol worship & serves The Lord faithfully once again! What a turn for the better! But, that doesn't mean he was exempt from a bad report! The king of Assyria was taunting, terrorizing & threatening the Jews to take over their land. But with the faithfulness of king Hezekiah, God knew He could trust him with this negative report...and that's because Hezekiah gave that report right back to God in prayer! He layed it out & prayed over it! This is what we need to do as well! We need to lay it all out to Jesus! We need to give it all to Him in prayer, trusting that the outcome we receive is the one we need: 1 Peter 5:7: "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." And here is what happened when king Hezekiah made this choice: 2 Kings 19:20: "Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard." It's just that easy! I've heard it preached before: "Can The Lord trust you with trouble?" And that's a powerful statement! Can He trust us to trust Him? Or will we panic, sink into depression & carry the weight of that bad report all on our own? Next time we are intimidated by a bad report, let's lay it out before The Lord! Soon enough, we will see a good report come out of it all...so let's start claiming it now in Jesus' Name!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
