A Guiding Light
Based on Isaiah 56-58, 2 Thessalonians 2
"and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:" Isaiah 58:10
Sadly, darkness and depression have been the driving force of many lives. People look in the wrong direction to try to find light & hope, and sometimes, they just stop looking altogether. This is why it's imperative to remember that Jesus is Light, and a Guiding Light at that! He doesn't just glow in magnificence; He is LEADING us somewhere...somewhere far greater than this world! We need to speak Jesus, speak life & receive the Holy Ghost in order to be lights in our community!
"and the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not." Isaiah 58:11
If we don't stop relying on Him, He will never stop guiding! We will be watered & saturated by God instead of dry & empty from this world & our own efforts! There is still Light! There is still Hope! We know His Name! We need to share it in a world which fears tomorrow...
"Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle." 2 Thessalonians 2:15
Hold on tight to God & the traditions in His Word, not the traditions of this world! While we may find temporary comfort in our past routines & traditions, we are still left in the dark...we need Jesus as our Guiding Light!
