A Host of Hospitality

Bible Reading 4/29: 1 Chronicles 7-10

1 Chronicles 9:19

And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry.

So many key details & lists are mentioned in The Word of God, which could be easily overlooked at times. For example, these keepers of the gates & keepers of the entry are listed here, and if they are worth mentioning, they are very important! I'm sure they were not only on guard at these posts, but also possibly there to welcome people in & out of the tabernacle for the daily service. This sounds familiar to churches today! The hospitality team is there to greet at the entry, but also to guide & give direction to newcomers. Without someone at the entrance, how many people would just walk away? How many people would not know where to go, and just leave? Getting to the hospitality team is the first step to the altar for a complete, amazing life-changing transformation with Jesus Christ! Being hospitable & having a church filled with a host of hospitality makes people feel like family, as they should be! In reflecting on this, I plan to pray & be more hospitable myself! What a great privilege & blessing we can be to others, to get them one step closer to salvation & victory in Jesus' Name! "For a day in thy courts Is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."
