A Keeper of the Word

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Deuteonomy 7-9

"And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no." Deuteronomy 8:2.

Lots of people today, sadly, are carriers of the coronavirus, but how about being keepers of God's Word? Carrier or not, let's be keepers. Let's be followers of Jesus more closely now than ever before. God can us this contagious situation to make His Word contagious!

That's what this world needs now-love. Truth. Hope for tomorrow. But we can't keep it without practicing it ourselves! We are being humbled to remember what God has done for us. He has kept us for so long & actively worked in our lives-but have we soon forgotten? Scripture states about to KEEP His commandments! Keep them. Love them. And just like a disease, be a carrier of His Word to someone else. That's a positive way to affect our world, instead of infecting it!

"And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live." Deuteronomy 8:3.

God will provide, but ultimately it's the nourishment from His Word that need! It will sustain us through even the most dire circumstances. It is the positive report to the negative reports. It is the Good News to the bad. Be a keeper, and spread God's Word to all! Especially the carriers of this disease today! They need it most. Their families need it most...

"Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;" Deuteronomy 7:9.

Remember-God is GOOD! He KEEPETH covenant & mercy with them that love Him & keep His commandments...TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS! You have to be quite the keeper & carrier of God's Truth in order to pass it that far! We can't passively carry God's Word of hope with us today. Society's circumstances won't allow that. It is urgent that we become keepers! We need to actively practice obedience to God so others can see God's Hand upon our lives!

"And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee." Deuteronomy 7:15.

Not that we want even our enemies to get the disease, but God WILL take it away! Only HE has the power to do so! This plague will pass & die if we let His Word shine in our hearts. God's Word will never pass away, because those who love Him will keep & protect it...and live it! But those who reject God will not be able to stand when nothing else is left but God & His Truth. Lots of this world's comforts are being removed from our lives...I pray that those who have not decided to live for God would do so now! In Jesus' Name!

"Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;"
Deuteronomy 8:12‭-‬14.

Could this be the situation of today? Could we be basking in the temporary goodness of this world, forgetting the everlasting & eternal goodness of God? God brought His people OUT of Egypt & OUT of those plagues-they were never meant to dwell in a diseased environment. But, we were never meant to live without God either! When the blessings come, we cannot forget the One who has blessed us!

"And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." Deuteronomy 8:17‭-‬18.

If we are not keepers of His Word, we will soon forget that it's God who provides! Human strength & power does not get us far. We need the intervention of the mighty Hand of God! And the reason He gives the wealth is so we will use it to His glory & walk closer in covenant with Him! We can't abuse our blessings. We can't pridefully credit ourselves with things God Himself has done for us. We need to stay humble & seek God!

"And I took your sin, the calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the mount."
Deuteronomy 9:21.

We need to take our sin, especially that of pride, and stamp it to the ground! We have no answers in a time like this. We are not smarter than God. No doctor, as hard-working as they are, loves us more than our Heavenly Father. It's time to keep His Word. It's time to put it into action. It's time to carry it to the world! Hopefully just as fast as this disease is spreading, God's Word will become contagious. When that happens, FAITH will be contagious. HOPE will be contagious. LIFE will be contagious, and not death. Let's speak it. Let's live it. Let's do it...LET'S KEEP IT!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
