A Kind Gesture

Gina Pietrzak

Bible Reading 4/21: 2 Samuel 1-4

2 Samuel 2:5 And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the LORD, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.

It seems so obvious, and it's been repeated time & time again, that a kind gesture really does go a long way. Saul died in battle. He had wounds from others, but ultimately fell on his own sword. After he was killed, he was paraded around & abused. Although it's true that he may have had this coming, being the type of king he was, he still shouldn't have been rewarded evil for evil. The men of Jabeshgilead knew this. They took Saul's remains and buried them respectfully & properly, without even being told to do it...and what happened? Word got back to David, and they were blessed! The men didn't do it to show off, running to David once they did the right thing...they knew God was watching! They knew that doing the right thing was a righteous act, and that alone was enough. The Lord blesses us when we are blessings to others! And even if we don't reap the rewards on earth, a kind gesture here has ETERNAL benefits! Keep spreading that Christ-like kindness!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
