A Labor of Love

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Proverbs 30-31, 2 Corinthians 11:1-15

"She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: Her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, And her hands hold the distaff." Proverbs 31:18‭-‬19

A Mother's work is never quite complete. This is true for Fathers too, but being a Mom myself & speaking to many other Moms, I can speak to what I know of Motherhood & compare it to that of Proverbs 31. The candle doesn't really go out. In sleep, we still wonder & dream if all is well, and have constant conversations in our own mind of how we can improve. God has designed Mothers to be lifesavers, not only to birthing children, but to giving the best of our lives to them. It's a labor of love!

"She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy." Proverbs 31:20

There is a constant spirit of sacrifice in many aspects of life, not just for our children...but having children increases the importance & awareness of all those in need. Moms desire to reach further until the problem is solved. It's all driven by a Christ-like love that knows true sacrifice!

"She looketh well to the ways of her household, And eateth not the bread of idleness." Proverbs 31:27

There's never a dull moment in Motherhood, and that's ok! God keeps things interesting. He keeps us going. Our goal is to see our whole family make it to Heaven, and we must stop at nothing to see that accomplished! Thankfully, The Lord knows how to give us a little rest in between battles, although, again, sometimes sleep can be a challenge & rare commodity!

"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: But a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31:30

We don't need to worry about the worldly needs of women as godly Mothers. If we fear The Lord, we will be praised! But more than us being praised, we will earn a humility that just wants to see Jesus praised, and so all else just becomes a bonus! So thankful for this labor of love!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
