A New Flood

Based on Genesis 7-9, Matthew 3

2020 seemed, for most people, as though it was a year of sinking sand, or a flood which was impossible to overcome. The waves crashed & hit so hard from day to day. It was very comparable to the flood in Noah's time which consumed the whole earth:

"For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth."
Genesis 7:4.

As was emphasized in the last post, Noah & his family were the ONLY ones saved from this flood! None others were righteous, walking with God! Thank God for Noah & his family; without them we wouldn't be here today, and of course we wouldn't be here without Jesus!

That was a flood we would have wanted to escape. 2020 was a flood most of us wanted to escape too...but there is a flood of water which we SHOULD be drawn to...

"In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 3:1‭-‬2.

In the New Testament, John the Baptist cried from the wilderness. In the Old Testament, Noah cried out to others about the impending flood, but none would listen to him. The flood baptized the earth, washing away the sinful people who would not obey God. John the Baptist spoke of a baptism of repentance & immersion in water...a new flood which washes the sin from people, dying only to our sinful past, not dying physically as in the days of Noah!

"Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins." Matthew 3:5‭-‬6.

It's time for everyone to experience that new flood! The one meant to save, not to destroy! God said He would never again destroy the earth by flood again...instead, He now uses water baptism & baptism of His Holy Ghost to save souls!

"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" Matthew 3:11.

A new flood. A new life. A new fire & passion for Christ! Get on board the Acts 2:38 ark!

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38.
