A New House

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Ezra 1-2, John 19:23-42

"Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem." Ezra 1:2‭-‬3

God moved upon king Cyrus to allow a group of God's people to come out from captivity to return to Jerusalem to build the house of The Lord! King Cyrus was the king of Persia, and had nothing to do with God's people, but God gave him a burden to see this house completed! God can use anyone He desires, and this just showed that God had a very urgent plan which was about to unfold...this was leading up to something great!

Years beyond the building of this house & temple, Jesus would come on the scene & be the temple made without hands!

"Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand."

John 19:40‭-‬42

"We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands." Mark 14:58

Jesus Himself was more than a building structure-He IS our structure and stability today! When we gather in the house of God at church, we need to remember that we are His Body, and it's the Body of members that makes the church great, not the building! Jesus changed the world's perspective of greatness...the soul is so much more precious than anything...and now WE can be new houses for The Lord to dwell in! From temple, to God Himself, to God in us, this plan unfolded from the beginning as a pattern of getting close to us & showing us true love. Repent, get baptized & receive the Holy Ghost to be a new house that houses The Lord!

"Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet," Acts 7:48

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
