A Peace Offering
Reading of the Day: Numbers 4-6
Numbers 6:26: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
This Scripture was just a part of the beautiful blessing spoken over the Israelites. The Lord told Moses to have Aaron speak this over them. The rest of it reads: Numbers 6:24-26: "The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace." So many exchanges happened throughout these chapters between God and His people, mainly in the form of sacrifices & offerings. But at the end of this chapter, we see that all of the work put into this relationship in terms of the sacrifices, offerings & also the building of the tabernacle all amounts to the purpose of God being close to His people and being able to bless them for being faithful through this holy process! One of the types of offerings the people were to perform was a peace offering...and we can now see that God gives us an offering of peace right back! When we sacrifice our cares & worries to God, He gives us peace in exchange! We are never losing anything when we sacrifice. In fact, we always receive more than we give to God! Whatever we have to offer is worth the blessing of blissful peace which only He could supply! I can honestly say that any other form of fulfillment leaves us empty eventually...but Jesus is the Living Water which never runs dry! In your working, in your offering, in your giving & times of difficult sacrifice, God sees you. He is here today for a peace offering! And remember, this peace offering is an exchange! When we offer up those daily struggles, He offers us abundant peace. One question to ask concerning how we know if we are close to God is, "Do I have peace about this?" When we are closer to peace, we are closer to Jesus! Here are a few more Scriptures to emphasize the importance of this peace offering:
Romans 14:19 "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another."
2 Timothy 2:22 "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart."
Hebrews 12:14 "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:"

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
