A Pure Love

Based on Leviticus 23-24, Mark 1:1-22

"And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God."
Leviticus 23:22

What are we leaving behind as we go through life? Are we distracted by our stuff, unconcerned with others, or our relationship with God? I've been praying for God to help me prefer others and to realize that it is better to give than to receive. That is the way of Christ. That is pure love. We need to prepare ourselves for Him so we can do more for those around us! He will strengthen us to go even further beyond ourselves!

"He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the Lord continually. And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the Lord . And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the Lord."
Leviticus 24:4‭, ‬6‭-‬7

There was a purity about the tabernacle. Everything used was untainted, not mixed or corrupted with anything less than what God required. How are our bodily temples doing? Do we have a pure love? In order to look at what we can leave behind for others, we must look at how diligent we are in preparing The Lord's way before us in our own lives! We can't bring others along if we haven't traveled the path!

"As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."
Mark 1:2‭-‬3

Jesus will make our paths straight, leading to His heart. He will lead us to others to show them the pure love of God. Are we ready for the journey?
