A Reliable Ruler

Bible Reading Today: Judges 16-18

Judges 18:19 And they said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?

So much chaos & turmoil was taking place in Israel at this time in our reading-the reason? No reliable ruler was in place! We have just come out of the devastating story of Samson, and now a priest & Levite who was supposed to be devout unto God is being tossed from one bad situation to another. The sad thing is, we can see the desperation of the people. They are crying out for a father and a priest, but they fail to cry out to God, the true Father & Priest, to appoint one for them! This Levite was a long way from home & out of place, allowing idol worship to be excused! Even the priest needed a check-up, as we all do! God can fill the voids & gaps in our lives better than any leader on earth, but still He desires us to have structure & leadership in this life, too! It's important to pray for those in authority in our country to make sound, Godly decisions! That way, a country in chaos can become a country in communion with God! One nation under God!!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
