A Sense of Belonging
Bible Reading Today: Jeremiah 7-9
but this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. Jeremiah 7:23
It's unfortunate that many people look in all the wrong places for comfort...some gangs and other such groups offer a place of safety & comfort for teens & young adults in exchange for their innocence, values & sense of identity...and they don't even realize it! That's why it's all the more important to get the word out there about our God and what He has to offer! The Scripture says when we obey Him, we are His and He is ours...and take note of that last part: that it may be well unto us! No gang or other such group can offer that. Sure, they might offer a sense of belonging...but you end up belonging to a group that will take your life! Thankfully, when we willingly give our lives to Jesus, He uses them for a purpose! That is the greatest sense of belonging, because it is well unto us! It just makes sense!
