A Shift of Focus
Based on Isaiah 37-38, Colossians 3
"Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years." Isaiah 38:5
King Hezekiah was sick, and not given much time to live...so his response in this chapter was turning toward the wall to pray desperately unto God. I've heard it preached before that in turning to the wall, Hezekiah drowned out all other noises, voices & influences in order to have a focused moment with God. As a Mom, this might be hard to do, but we all need a wall! We all need a moment in time, as much as we can get, to shift our focus away from everything else & just soak up some time with God! God saw Hezekiah's desperation & willingness to turn away from the world for his answers, and so God spoke through Isaiah and gave Hezekiah 15 more years to live!
"O Lord, by these things men live, And in all these things is the life of my spirit: So wilt thou recover me, and make me to live. Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: But thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: For thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back." Isaiah 38:16-17
Amazingly, Hezekiah's song of thanks to God goes deeper than the healing of the disease in his physical body...it goes down to the core healing of any sin or corruption of the soul! Hezekiah's deep relationship with God allowed him to care more about his soul & eternity than this temporary life...in seeing that genuine love for God, He healed Hezekiah, knowing his values were in the right place! And he developed that relationship by having those focused, intentional moments with God, shifting his focus off of the world and onto The Lord!
"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Colossians 3:2
This Scripture is the overall theme for this section! Sometimes, we just have to stop seeking out options online, sinking deeper into a pit than finding a plan. Sometimes, we just have to simply face a wall! The only One who can fit between you & that wall is Jesus Christ! When the focus shifts to Him, the perspective becomes more positive!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
