A Special Occasion

Bible Reading Today: Exodus 10-12

Exodus 12:42 It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

Finally! The Israelites were leaving Egypt & heading to a place where they could freely worship & serve The Lord! This time of the passover was such a special occasion. The hurrying. The hustle. The bustle. The excitement. How anxious they must have been! The Lord had passed over the houses with the blood of the lamb & the firstborn of each Egyptian household was dead. As sad as it was, it built up over a long time of back & forth with various plagues...and now the Israelites were on their way! As the Scripture states, this was to be a marked moment in their history & re-visited regularly so every generation would remember the goodness of God upon His people. We all have those special occasions in our lives...the planning, the preparations, the pictures, the touching moments...and we can't let ourselves forget them! That's how we have to be with God. We need to create special moments with Him through prayer & His Word. Marked moments in our history. Times where we really reflect & connect with God. If we plan on spending an eternal special occasion with Him, we need to start building that special relationship now!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
