A Treasure Revealed
Based on Isaiah 39-40, Colossians 4
"Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them." Isaiah 39:4
Hezekiah's miracle healing was probably a top news story of his day...and the king of Babylon sent messengers & a gift to king Hezekiah after hearing about it! Hezekiah showed them every treasure in his house & hid nothing from them...not knowing that they were there for the wrong reasons! It was a subtle way for Babylon to have more knowledge & access in order to soon overtake God's people!
We have to be careful of who we reveal our treasures to...not just personal items, but personal information we wouldn't want leaked out for the world to know! Hezekiah was probably caught up in the moment, thinking he could trust them...but that's why we have to remember to keep our trust in God & allow Him to protect our treasures...especially the treasure of our families!
"and the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." Isaiah 40:5
The Treasure we DO want to reveal is Jesus! The safest thing we can do, especially to protect others in this day & hour, is to show them that there is safety & security in Jesus! When we hold Jesus in our hearts as The Holy Ghost, we have a Treasure which could only be shared, not stolen! The glory of The Lord SHALL be revealed in Jesus' Name!
"withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:" Colossians 4:3
When the door of utterance is opened from our mouths when we receive The Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in new tongues, we then will see more doors of utterance to speak the Truth to others, that they may not only be safe in this world, but saved for eternity! Some treasures should remain hidden, but Jesus should always be revealed!
