A Voice for Victory

Reading of the Day: Joshua 6-8

Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

In this reading, the Israelites finally take Jericho & enter the promised land! And the plan to take the city was a lot easier than they probably thought-the huge, walled, strong city came down with nothing but a mighty shout from the people after circling the city silently for 6 days! There were no bombs at that time which could do a job like that...it was all thanks to following the direction of God! Only a God plan could work like that! And it's definitely something to wonder about...why would God allow that to be the battle plan? I think it might have been because the Israelites used their voices for many reasons in times past, and mostly for negative reasons. They always had a complaint about leadership or just the way things were done. But now, their voices were silenced for 6 days circling the city in order to shout on the seventh day! Before they had a chance to complain, doubt or question what was happening, they were told to keep quiet until the seventh day. They went from being the voice of a victim to the voice of a victor! Their voices were no longer used to give a noisy opinion, but to make a joyful noise of victory unto The Lord! We have to stop being the voice of doubt. The voice of "what if?". The voice of negativity...and we must start being the voice of victory! We must save our voices for the shout & not the doubt! We must speak life & not death! The Truth of victory in Christ & not the lie of defeat from the devil! Our voices must be used to shout victory & give hope to others-giving in to the plan of God & not giving up and letting sin win!
