A Watchman's Warning

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Ezekiel 33-36

"Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: 3: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; 4: Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
5: He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul." Ezekiel 33:2-5.

This message from Ezekiel is also something so closely related to events today! So many wake-up calls & warnings are going forth-one day the trumpet sound, and if we are not ready to go with The Lord, we will left when the rapture of the church takes place! But who does God use to get this message out? He used prophets like Ezekiel, and He desires to use people like us as watchmen (and watchwomen!) when we get involved & invested in Jesus through the Acts 2:38 plan of salvation & a lifestyle of holiness! We need to give out the warnings!

"So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me." Ezekiel 33:7.

We've got an important job to do! In whatever ways we are able, we need to talk to people about God and remind them that there really is only ONE hope in this uncertain time-Jesus Christ! THE HOPE OF GLORY! In knowing & not sharing, we will have blood upon our hands! We owe it to our loved ones (but especially to God) to get the message out!

"As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
13: And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country." Ezekiel 34:12-13.

God has a plan to bring His people back-in this instance, He is speaking of the people of Israel. In our case, it's every person everywhere! Remember, He even wanted those of the heathen & foreign lands to know He is Lord! We are a part of that plan to bring people back. To nudge hearts to turn back to our first love, Jesus Christ! God is the great Shepherd, and Pastors are shepherds as well, leading with that same mentality. We must also think like shepherds, stay under our shepherds, and gather more into the flock!

"But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
9: For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
10: And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:" Ezekiel 36:8-10.

"And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited." Ezekiel 36:35.

The promise of a better life is on its way...now & in eternity! We need to heed to the watchman's warning, and be watchwomen ourselves! God wants to build up the ruined things. He wants to give us greater than we've ever had-so let's not settle for less!!

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
