A Young Calling
Based on 2 Chronicles 34-36, John 19:1-22
As Moms, it is such a joy to watch our children play, learn & grow together. As they develop, it fulfills something in us to see them reach certain milestones. But even as children, their existence is so much more than something that's fulfilling for us as parents. Even as children, they have a great calling upon their lives! We need to make sure we are pursuing God's Perfect Will not only for our lives, but praying with our children to seek after God's Perfect Will in their lives! King Josiah was only 8 years old when he began to reign as king in Jerusalem, and he actually ended up being a king who followed God!
"Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left." 2 Chronicles 34:1-2
He didn't look to the right or left to see what the other nations were doing. It would have been easy as a child to seek after the next best existing example to model himself after, but instead, he went back to the old ways even being a young child! He wanted to walk in the ways of David! A good parent must have taught him that! Also, this desire & calling was in him before the book of the Law of The Lord was even recovered! After it was recovered, Josiah's passion to follow God only increased!
"So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah."
2 Chronicles 35:16
"And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem." 2 Chronicles 35:18
Josiah made sure the passover was the best one yet! Of course by this time he had grown a little, but his desire to follow the ways of The Lord grew with him! That's because his calling was a young calling, and he had it in his heart since he was a child! He held onto it and only allowed it to get stronger!
"Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. Pilate answered, What I have written I have written." John 19:21-22
Jesus knew His calling from a young age, and it was actually determined not only from the infant stage, but from the beginning of time! God knew He would have to be the Ultimate Sacrifice since before Adam & Eve sinned in the garden...and we must thank Him for that every day! He also has specific plans for our lives, and for our children too. We must pray & seek God to see what path we need to start walking down as a family! Our children can do amazing things for The Lord!
"Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger." Psalm 8:2

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
