Absent-Hearted

Based on 2 Chronicles 25-27

"And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart."
2 Chronicles 25:2.

It's been said before: Do what you love, love what you do. If our heart isn't in our work, it becomes something that is done in vain. We become slaves & not servants. We have an unwilling heart & all joy is lost...even something we do for God can just seem like "work" unless our heart is committed to the task...

No one would want to "get the hint" that you're doing something for them out of obligation & not desire...especially God! God knows when our relationship with Him is just a check-mark off the list...just as the Scripture states above: king Amaziah did a lot of things for God, but his whole heart wasn't in it...Here's an example situation:

"But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the Lord is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim. But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down. And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The Lord is able to give thee much more than this." 2 Chronicles 25:7‭-‬9.

Amaziah was ready to go fight a battle. He hired more soldiers from Israel, as well as his soldiers from Judah. But a prophet came to him, slowed him down, and wanted to remind him that the battle is The Lord's, and they wouldn't win unless God was in it! Always check-in with God first in prayer-it can save you some defeat and cause a victory!

Amaziah listened that time & realized you can't be geared up for victory without God. Unfortunatly, he ends up worshipping idols & falls away from God completely. Then, there was king Uzziah. His heart was right for a while too, but then he thought he had more authority than the priests who did the service of The Lord in the temple:

"But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense." 2 Chronicles 26:16.

God doesn't teach us to be strong & walk so we can walk away from Him! We always need God! Uzziah ended up getting leprosy, dying isolated from others, and especially God...

In this time where isolation is the new norm, don't isolate your hearts! We can still love others & love God!
