Another Comforter
Based on 2 Chronicles 21-22, John 14
What comforts us? What makes us feel most calm, at ease & secure? For many people, it can be relaxing & entertainment. For some, it's the opposite-working really hard constantly in order to get to that next level of promotion. But whatever we turn to to calm our nerves, we need to realize that they don't specialize in comfort...or at least, eternal comfort...there is a greater comfort out there that can give us rest even in the stressful times, and that's Jesus Himself! He IS the Comforter! He wants to wrap His arm around us and be that shoulder to lean on/cry on...and while many people can do that for us, they only soothe...but Jesus SOLVES!
"If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." John 14:15-17
When we open ourselves up to Jesus, we are receiving Comfort through His Spirit! We don't just want a touch of Comfort in our lives...we want it to be everlasting! So we must RECEIVE HIM! Remember Acts 2:38-we must repent, and be baptized of water AND Spirit! Of water AND Comfort! With evidence of speaking in NEW tongues...no longer OLD habits of past comforts which were unfulfilling. If we love Him, we will keep His commandments...and this is one of them! He commands us to be comforted...what a great God we serve!
"But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not." 2 Chronicles 22:11
Athaliah was a queen in the Old Testament who went & killed all the royal descendants so she could be queen. Her comfort was found in that prestige & status, doing whatever it took to get to the top...but Jehoshabeath saved one of the royal descendants, Joash, and cared for him...she knew she was preserving the royal bloodline, and could help to do something against the evil going on in Israel and Judah...she was a daughter of the king (king Jehoram), but also a daughter of The King-Jesus Christ, our God! She found comfort in doing what was right, in doing what she could to please God...that's the ultimate comfort! And she shared that comfort with Joash!
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:26-27
The Holy Ghost teaches us, comforts us, helps us to remember what we must do, and gives us peace...it moved upon those in the Old Testament, and today, because of Jesus' ultimate sacrifice, we can RECEIVE HIM! I encourage you to not shy away from this form of Comfort, because Jesus not only soothes, He solves our problems...and He SAVES!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
