Are we prepared?

Based on Exodus 25-26, Matthew 20:17-34

Every time people are going to be coming over, I feel like I'm never fully prepared...like, even if I clean, I'm sure there HAS to be something I'm missing (and usually with a family of 6, there is lol). Looking back on the tabernacle prepared by Moses & the children of Israel, it was the first place prepared for The Lord, so you know it HAD to be special!

"Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them. The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure. The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another."
Exodus 26:1‭-‬3.

The curtains were hand-crafted & hung just right! The tables were in place. The candlestick was burning...and most importantly, the holy of holies was there behind the veil! That's where God's presence resided at that time!

"And thou shalt hang up the veil under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the veil the ark of the testimony: and the veil shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy." Exodus 26:33.

Similar to the tabernacle plan, we need to be sure OUR HEARTS are cleaned up and prepared for The Lord! The same servant mentality we have for our guests needs to be given to Jesus as He comes to live in our hearts by the Holy Ghost! Actually, beyond anything else, we are servants of The Lord first & foremost! A place needs to be set at the table in our hearts for The Lord to join us!

"And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." Matthew 20:27‭-‬28.

Jesus did not just come to make sacrifices...He came to be OUR SACRIFICE! That's the difference between the Old & New Testament. The tabernacle plan had a place for sacrificing...it was prepared for that type of service to God. But are our hearts prepared to be living sacrifices? To deny our self-will to follow His perfect Will? Let's get prepared today:

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38.
