Attention!

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Jeremiah 15-17, 2 Timothy 2

"For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes."

Jeremiah 16:17

God doesn't only pay attention to us when we are doing good things...our good works are not a signal flare to Him...it's important to note that He sees us ALL the time, no matter what! We want our good things to be noticed, but we cannot hide the bad either...so let's focus our attention upon God, upon His ways, upon His desires for our lives, so when He looks upon our everyday lives, we are pleasing Him & not displeasing Him!

"Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?" Jeremiah 16:20

We really have to pay attention to what we pay attention to! Are we glorifying things that should not be glorified? Do we spend more time in the presence of others & not the presence of God? Do we give in too easily to the attention-grabbers & not the One worthy of our attention? In giving our most to God, we see our lives turn out the best!

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."

Jeremiah 17:7‭-‬8

"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier." 2 Timothy 2:4

Let's be a tree with roots planted in God, freely flowing & freely growing, not tangled in the roots which are planted in the affairs of this life! Distractions take up so much of our attention-so let's examine our priorities daily to be sure we are putting God first!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
