Be a Sign

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Ezekiel 24-26, 1 Peter 2

"Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD." Ezekiel 24:24

Of the many signs & visions given to Ezekiel, the most profound thing spoken to him, at least to me, was that he HIMSELF was a sign to the people! Just as God used miraculous visions to speak to Ezekiel, God wanted to use Ezekiel as a special sign to the people as a warning of what was to come! What an incredible job & burden to bear...but so needful in his time AND ours! Are we up for that challenge? Can we be a sign to people today, pointing them in the direction of God & showing them His love?

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"

1 Peter 2:9

In order to be a sign, you have to stand out! God's people have to be set apart, a little on the peculiar side, in order to reach our world...it took the same strategy in Ezekiel's day! God's people were never made to blend...we were meant to be a shining sign, pointing to Jesus! The way we can do that is reflecting His Word to our world!

"having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation." 1 Peter 2:12

Are we doing anything for God that people will notice? Not for our recognition of course, but for the glory of God? Is it hard for people to tell we are God's people? We need to make sure we step away from our past in repentance, get baptized in water & Spirit, and be an obvious sign for The Lord in these last days!

"For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:" 1 Peter 2:21

Let's be an example! Let's be a sign!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
