Be Part of the Count!

Based on Numbers 1-2, Mark 3:1-19

Numbers is a book that is very direct & straight-forward: it numbered the army camps of Israel by tribe! God is the God of the highest mountain and smallest detail-just as it was important to keep order & number those prepared for war, and it was important to gather a certain number of original disciples, it's important today to be part of the count of people on The Lord's side!

"As the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai. And the children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war; Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred." Numbers 1:19‭-‬21.

This is one example of the number list detailed out for one specific tribe, the tribe of Reuben. I think it's so incredible to have these kinds of records & documents available-but the more amazing thing is that this isn't just history! This is OUR history! We are to be written in as followers of Jesus (or the tribe of Jesus!) when we go through the Acts 2:38 plan of salvation! IT REALLY COUNTS IN ETERNITY!!! We become soldiers bringing lost souls to Him!

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38

Here are the original 12 disciples...and there have been many more since! Let's be a part of the count!!

"13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;

17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house." Mark 3:13-19.
