Because of Who He is!

Based on Judges 11-12, Luke 6:1-26

"And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman. Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him."
Judges 11:2-3.

Jephthah had an unfortunate past. He couldn't help the way he came into the world. He could have let rejection and accusation define him for the rest of his life, but he decided to step up when the time was right. His brothers, like Joseph, came around after a while. They needed Jephthah to fight with them against their enemies:

"And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the Lord deliver them before me, shall I be your head? And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The Lord be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words. Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the Lord in Mizpah." Judges 11:9‭-‬11.

Jepthah went from rejected to revered, because God restored him! Jepthah even went to talk to The Lord in Mizpah as a witness to all the people...he understood it was GOD who brought him back & brought him through! It didn't matter who Jepthah was defined as...it's because of Who God is that Jephthah got redefined and received a better position than he had before!

"And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days? And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone? And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." Luke 6:2‭-‬5.

Jesus faced the most rejection and accusation, more than any one of us! He understands what we are going through in our times of feeling like an outcast...but one thing was for certain-He was no outcast to The Word! He was & is the Living Word! The Pharisees tried to act as though they owned The Word and were more knowledgeable of it, but Jesus quickly showed them the parts they rejected when they accused Him of breaking the law...David offered shewbread, and He could offer corn! God's Word stands firm & true always, and when we reject the rejection & accusation to follow Him, He won't let us down! It's not about our reputation, it's about our relationship with Jesus!

IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS!

"Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets." Luke 6:22‭-‬23.
