Beneath the Surface

Reading of the Day: Leviticus 13-15

Leviticus 14:41: And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without the city into an unclean place:

As we brought up last post, it's most definitely time for a refresh! It's time to think about clean & unclean. Old & new. Necessary & unnecessary...but we can't just get rid of the clutter; we have to tackle it all at the roots and at the source-we have to go behind the scenes & beneath the surface! A mess can sometimes just consist of a few items, but a lot of the time there is filth, dust & debris which can only be seen by really scraping away and looking deeper...and that's what this Scripture above spoke into my spirit. This Scripture was focusing on a plague or leprosy spread throughout the walls of a home, beneath the surface which the eye could not see without a little more scraping. Sometimes it was salvageable, sometimes it wasn't. Kind of like mold. I love how God has protocols in place for any given emergency! We can take this Scripture beneath the surface too! As we take a deep-dive into our souls & take a good look around, what can we scrape away? What things are really getting in the way of allowing our spiritual self to thrive? That's what we must pray about, letting The Lord bring those things to light! Maybe we hold our lives together pretty well on the surface, but beneath it all, there's a grudge acting as an "infection of unforgiveness" deep in our heart & soul. Maybe it's hidden fear & doubt that God really has something special planned for us. Whatever it is, allow God's Word to be the scraping tool which can gently yet permanently remove those things which keep us distant from Him. Keep the lines of prayer open, as well as your heart, and let God beneath the surface!
