Bring the vessels back!

Reading of the Day 5/16/25: Ezra 3-5

Ezra 5:15: And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in his place.

To the broken, divided people of Jerusalem, hope & restoration came from a very unexpected place...the king of Babylon at this time was king Cyrus, and he of all people followed the prompting of God to bring Israel home again! I find this so interesting, yet also sad. And this is because God could not speak to & get through to His people, so He used a foreign king to get their attention! In this Scripture, the precious vessels which belonged in God's temple originally were finally brought back & put into their rightful place. At one point, they were taken by king Nebuchadnezzar, but thankfully, king Cyrus followed the conviction God placed upon his heart to bring them back again. These vessels, empty & open, were finally brought back to where they belonged-just like God's people! These vessels were being carried back to their homeland, back to the house of God, and back to a place where they were empty, open & ready to receive something from God again! They probably had to dust the vessels off a bit. Maybe some were broken & needed repairing. But whatever the condition, they were being brought back, and that's all that matters! Even if people wander away from God, that doesn't change where they truly belong! Their home is always with God! So, let's bring the vessels back! Let's not back away because of the condition...let's remind ourselves & those we are reaching that every vessel matters, and the enemy is not allowed to keep them! And even if it's us that are the lost & broken vessels right now, it's never too late to come back home! It's never a bad time to be a victorious vessel, safely nestled in the House of God once again!
