Built to Last
Based on Genesis 1-3
"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
Genesis 1:14
In starting off our reading in Genesis, we see the beauty of the creation God has made...but in reflecting on this particular verse, we see that what was started was built to last a long, long time. The lights which divide the day & night were meant to be signs for us for seasons, days & years to come! Although we know the flood is to come in subsequent chapters, and we know creatures live & die, ultimately, earth is still standing. The universe is still standing. God can even give new life & restore the old...so when God puts something into place, especially His Word overall, it is built to last! How fascinating it is that we can look outside and see creation as God continued it, starting thousands of years ago!
"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Genesis 1:28
The fruitfulness & multiplication of the whole earth began from just a few-it seems so simple to think that way, but it reminds us that everything is a process. Everything takes time. Everything we want to build in our lives needs to start small. That's just the order of things! Baby steps are okay. As we venture into this new year, we can still keep that "new year, new me" mentality, but we don't have to do it all at once! As long as our main priority is prayer & His Word, everything else will be arranged where it needs to by our Creator!
"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Matthew 24:35
If it wasn't for God's Word, nothing would be created. He gives & takes away life. He knows when it's time to begin & end, because HE IS the beginning & ending. If it's built upon the foundation of His Word, it will last! What are we built upon? Do we need to re-set our footing a bit? Let's set ourselves on the right track, grounded in His Word, and ready to grow through until eternity!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
