Carried Away

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Jeremiah 51-52, Hebrews 9

"The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God." Jeremiah 51:10

Although these chapters of Jeremiah proclaim the carrying away of God's people & the declaring of the wrath against Babylon after the captivity, we see glimpses of a different type of "carrying away." While there was a time appointed for carrying away God's people out of their land (because of them being carried away by their own lusts), there would be a time of carrying away Israel from their enemies back to their land one day...but obedience would be the deciding factor!

"how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" Hebrews 9:14

Instead of being carried away in this life, getting caught up in things which steal our joy, energy, motivation & most of all our relationship with God, let's let God carry us away in His Word! He can take us beyond the everyday stress & into a loving & joyful relationship with Him...all while awaiting the day we get carried away to Heaven with Him! How much MORE Jesus? How much MORE the things of God instead of the cares of this life?

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
