Climb the Rock!
Based on Psalms 60-62, Romans 5
"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, When my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
Psalm 61:2
Today we arrive at one of my favorite Scriptures! Anybody else's heart easily overwhelmed? What do we do when this happens? We must be led to the rock that is higher than us! That Rock is Jesus! He is higher! He is greater! He is above all we are going through, all that's making us overwhelmed! And since He is so great & high above, a climb is required! But never fear, He does not make Himself distant or out of reach, just a safe distance from our troubles! So who's ready to climb!?
"He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him. So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, That I may daily perform my vows." Psalm 61:7-8
Our Rock, our God, gives us so much safety & stability when we begin the wondrous climb of a relationship with Him! We can sing praise FOREVER, not temporarily!
"He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved." Psalm 62:2
A Rock doesn't move easy! Especially our God! He never changes, and never crumbles under pressure! He is our salvation from here to Heaven!
"In God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God." Psalm 62:7
"Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." Romans 5:9
Salvation, strength & refuge are all found through Him! When we get under the Blood, through the waters of baptism & we receive the Holy Ghost with new tongues, we make our climb that much closer to our Heavenly home!
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38
