Come Again!

Reading of the Day: 2 Kings 9-11

2 Kings 11:17: And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD'S people; between the king also and the people.

These chapters were filled with so much war & bloodshed...and sadly, not against the enemies of Israel, but within Israel itself. The Lord had great judgment prepared for the many generations of those who had strayed away from Him, committing evil acts & serving other gods. It was time for a new king to rise up who would change the direction of the people & turn hearts back to God! The priest Jehoiada, after anointing this new king Jehoash, made the above covenant between The Lord & His people. It was a defining moment proclaiming that they should be The Lord's people & belong to Him once again! Although they had to go through a lot to get there, they got there! And I truly believe that's always God's call to us: Come again! These chapters prove to us that no matter how ugly it gets, no matter how much we think we've messed up, God calls us to come again! In the chapters before this one, Jehu became another king who valiantly destroyed most of the worshippers of Baal, cleansing Israel of all the idol worship. This was of The Lord, but Jehu did not also have the defining moment of bringing himself & the people back to a place of surrender. We can't just get rid of the bad! We need to fully come again to Jesus & accept all the good He has planned for us as we choose to walk with Him once again! Come with me as we run to Jesus, no longer held back, but moving forward closer to Him each day!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
