Continue to Rise

Based on Joshua 19-21, Psalm 44

Being the day after Resurrection Sunday, let's continue to rise. To focus on the Resurrection & life God brings us! To know that even in the worst cases of sickness, He is able to heal & restore! The Israelite tribes divided their inheritances & obtained their land-but I'm sure the day after was filled with maintaining that land. With caring for the promise they'd been given-the good thing is, God gave the land rest & peace in the early stages of obtaining their land, so maintaining wasn't all that hard! Although the Resurrection happened, it also happened on a day of rest! We get the rest AND the refreshing! We can both have peace and rise to a fresh new life in The Lord! Praise God!

"These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities. And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the Lord gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass." Joshua 21:42‭-‬45

"To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear."
Isaiah 28:12

Let's not forget what we've heard! Let's not let the Resurrection spark die, but let it live! Through Jesus and His plan of salvation, we gain the eternal inheritance! Until we reach eternity, we must continue to rise! We must embrace both the rest and the refreshing of God!

"When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:"
Joshua 19:49

One interesting thing to note from these passages was that Joshua came last, and his inheritance was defined by the children of Israel! Just like Jesus put Himself last for us! Both of these instances show a true servant's mentality. Because remember-earthly inheritances are nice, but the eternal inheritance of God Himself is so much better!

"Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob. Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us." Psalms 44:4‭-‬5

In continuing to rise, yet staying in submission to God, we will defeat those who rise against us just like Israel did! God gave them favor with their new inheritances. We will have favor when we rise in humility. When we rise, yet rest in The Lord. When we rise & have refreshing new life in Him each & every day, not just Resurrection Sunday!

"All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way; Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death. If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart."
Psalms 44:17‭-‬21

God knows the secrets of our hearts. He knows what we intend to do, no matter what we say outwardly. So let's rise above our old sinful, self-filled life! Let's rise & reach out to God and keep a Resurrection mindset everyday!
