Cooperation

Based on Jeremiah 21-22, Psalm 114

"8: And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
9: He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
10: For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire." Jeremiah 21:8-10.

The people of Judah & Jerusalem did not understand why God would want them to yield to be taken captive to the king of Babylon. Why would God speak that through Jeremiah? Why should they comply & cooperate??

Well, it was a lack of cooperation & obedience to God that got them into that situation in the first place! God finally gave them a choice, "the way of life, and the way of death" (21:8). Either they go as captives, or they die when the king of Babylon comes to the city anyway. Although no choice was favorable, life was the obviously better option!

"8: And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?
9: Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them." Jeremiah 22:8-9.

Cooperation with God allows things to operate better! Had they been obedient to God, loving Him & serving Him alone, they would not have been presented with this life or death situation. Each day, we have the choice to choose life or death without it being presented to us plainly. It all boils down to good or bad. Righteousness or sinfulness. God's way or the world's way. Let's be in unity with God and COOPERATE!

"7: Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8: Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters." Psalm 114:7-8.

God CAN do anything! But imagine what He WILL do when we choose to be on His side & cooperate with Him! Remember, He is the way! We don't have to put our trust elsewhere. In fact, God is the only One we can be vulnerable with! All others will fail us from time to time, but God never does! So don't turn away, stay in cooperation & covenant with God!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
