Count on Him!

Reading of the Day: Psalms 42-44

Psalms 42:11: Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

It's usually pretty easy to detect the signs of sickness...we can even feel a cold coming on & prepare ourselves before it gets worse. Sometimes though, it seems like one thing after another pops up faster than you can keep up (with 8 kids, I definitely can relate!). And in these times of sickness, we usually pray for God's healing touch. But what about the health of our countenance? This word has a few interesting definitions: a person's face or facial expression, support, or to admit as acceptable or possible. God is not only the One Who can heal our bodies physically, but He can heal our moods too! He can help us with our facial expressions & how we choose to express ourselves to others. He can be there as our healthy sense of support. And He can be there in order for us to have hope that anything is possible! All 3 of these definitions define God's way of giving us a wholesome, well-rounded wellbeing in all areas of our lives, not just in the natural/physical! He can see our emotions just as clearly as we can feel them! We don't have to hide our countenance from God. We don't need to only worry about healing physical sickness and not depression. We need to give God all the areas of our lives! Even if it's confusing & we can't put it into words, God can sort it out no matter how long we've been battling it! Count on Him to bless you with a healthy countenance!

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
