Bible Reading Today: Proverbs 30-31

Proverbs 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

There are so many Scriptures explaining how to be a virtuous, Spiritual, Godly woman in Proverbs 31. This Scripture in particular reminded me of Eglah, as our Pastor spoke about at our Father's Day Service. Many of the women were attributed a Biblical name, and mine was Eglah, which means productive. While this does mean physically in a sense that I do have many children & a full list of tasks to complete constantly, I also believe that it means Spiritually productive as well. I am not saying this meaning that I am the picture-perfect Eglah, for I know I definitely need to work hard & pray about it & repent every chance I get...and I know there are so many more beautiful Eglahs at our church too! But I take this meaning that both physically & Spiritually, this is where my heart is at deeply, although I am not perfect. Eglah does not eat the bread of idelness...she consumes the daily bread & nourishment of The Word, and once it has simmered in her soul, she shares that "meal" of Truth with her family, fellowship groups & friends! Again, there are many Eglahs I know, but I am so blessed to have been recognized in this manner. I am forever humbled, because it is not just a name, but a goal. If I stumble & the bread crumbs fall, I pray my children will pick them up & learn from my mistakes. If I succeed & set a good example through a trial or storm, I give glory to God, whose daily Bread of The Word keeps us safe & warm. Whether I am baking sourdough bread or taking in Spiritual bread, I want my life to glorify God & reach others...in Jesus' Name!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
