Do not fear!

Based on Deuteronomy 19-21

These passages of Scripture showed me 2 specific reasons why we should not fear:

1. GOD FIGHTS OUR BATTLES

2. GOD IS MERCIFUL

The Israelites had much territory to claim, and they wouldn't have gotten far without God. It's so amazing that God can do mighty things and merciful things at the same time. He does HUGE things in a humble manner. Our God loves His people, and even has mercy on our enemies as well. Lord, help us to be more like YOU!

"When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."
Deuteronomy 20:1.

It is so easy to "throw in the towel" in fear today. Going by what we see around us, it is so easy to give up & stay afraid. God brought the Israelites out of strict bondage in Egypt, and He can surely bring us out of the bondage of this disease! God says to "be not afraid of them"! Don't let ANYTHING or ANYONE keep you a slave to fear-Facebook is even trying to spread the word-FAITH OVER FEAR! Proclaim it in Jesus' Name!

"And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you." Deuteronomy 20:3‭-‬4.

Not only does God fight for us, but He SAVES US! He will help us to prevail-but are we on The Lord's side? Are we sticking up for God in a world so empty & void of desire for Him? There's a song which states "It may look like I'm surrounded, but I'm surrounded by You." That's how we fight our battles! Not just knowing God, but loving God into His safe embrace! Run to Him as your Father. Run to Him as your Savior. Jesus Christ is all in all!

"When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it."
Deuteronomy 20:10.

The Israelites were instructed to seek peace first! If a city would surrender peacefully, then the Israelites would not attack. But if not, only then would they attack. Again, not only does God fight OUR battles, but He seeks peace for even OUR ENEMIES, showing mercy & giving them a fair chance to turn to Him.

"Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it. Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither." Deuteronomy 19:2‭-‬3.

"Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them."
Deuteronomy 21:8.

So, God showed mercy to the Israelites, their enemies, everyone! He even provided a safe place for a killer to dwell in order to await fair judgment. We need to follow that example today. Everyone is shaken. Everyone needs a reminder that The Lord is there for them, especially in their hospital rooms. Put all grudges aside. Put all fear aside. Let God bring peace in a world so desperate for it!
