Bible Reading 8/23: Jeremiah 49-50

Jeremiah 50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

Don't stoop to the hill when God wants to give you a mountain! This is the first thing I thought of while reading this Scripture. When we don't listen to the right shepherd, the one who is telling us the Truth, we end up downgrading! When we settle for what's easiest or most comfortable Spiritually and we are afraid to challenge ourselves and live according to the Bible, we settle for a hill instead of embracing more land and more opportunity on the mountain! Also, as we heard during our Wednesday night service, there is an amazing view on the mountaintop-much greater than the hill! A mountaintop is also closer to Heavenly places! We can look back on the rough, strenuous journey from the top of the mountain and realize it was all worth it. We may stand out up there on the mountain, but we stand up tall, with a breath-taking view! We rise far above our troubles, problems and struggles which are still way more visible down on that hill...so keep on climbing!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
