Expectations
Reading of the Day 6/29/25: Psalms 60-62
Psalm 62:5: My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Expectations...this is a hard topic! I feel that these expectations can either be conscious thoughts, or subconscious thoughts. These can be standards we hold for ourselves, or ones we feel others hold for us, or even standards we hold for others. They can be reasonable, or unreasonable...and most of the time, expectations are unreasonable. We derive a lot of them from comparison, and if we are not careful, we lose our self-worth to these deceitful expectations. This topic has definitely been a struggle for me. It's a work in progress, especially with those subconscious things that tend to creep back in uncontrollably. So how do we take action & handle this? The answer is always with The Word of God! We may not be able to eradicate these things completely, but when those thoughts do return, we can hold onto Scriptures like the one above! Our expectation is from HIM! When we pray & allow God to flood our thoughts with His Word, we don't have room for any false expectations! We measure ourselves according to what He thinks of us, not what others do! God gives us a confidence that comparison never will! A bit before this Scripture, Psalm 61:2 states: "From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." This is one of my favorites to have on repeat in my mind every single day! We are going to get overwhelmed with demeaning expectations at times...the question isn't "if" but "when"...and when our heart is overwhelmed, lead us to the rock that is higher than us! We CAN climb over expectations that are too lofty and not meant for us! We just need to plant our minds & hearts on The Rock! Then, we can expect great things!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
