Facing the Giant

Gina Pietrzak

Reading of the Day 2/13/25: Numbers 13-15

Numbers 13:33: And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

The Israelites were starting to face a giant problem-literally! There were very tall, intimidating people in the land that The Lord promised them. When a group of men went to spy out this land, this intimidation immediately took over, fear pierced their hearts, and doubt quickly took over their minds. How would they overcome such a city? Not only were they like grasshoppers compared to those giants, but there was also a giant wall surrounding the city too! Layer after layer began to pile to create a giant problem-but 2 spies still had a good report! Joshua & Caleb did not let intimidation take over! They knew that whatever they would see in that city was nothing compared to the power of God! They remembered the Red Sea parting. They remembered the manna from Heaven. And they were confident God would do it again! Sometimes, our problems have multiple giant layers. Wall after wall that we see no way of getting through. So we don't even put up a fight. We don't attempt the victory. We just lay down & let the enemy of depression win. But we can't give in to that! God has given us all we need to win-He gave Himself! He is enough to fight any giant, or break through any wall! Before we face our giants, we need to seek the face of our giant God in prayer! He is bigger & more mighty than the looks of our problems...we will be victorious! Before facing the giant, seek the face of God!

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
