Finding that Place

Based on Ezra 6-8, John 21

It can seem like the world is a place of too many opportunities...we are not sure sometimes quite where to invest our time, or what to commit to. We have endless dreams, endless priorities & endless responsibilities...but God has a place for all of us in His church! That is the place where life makes the most sense. That is the place where we figure out what matters most...and that's our relationship with Jesus! Coming into our place in His Kingdom puts the rest of our lives in the proper perspective!

"and also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God." Ezra 6:5

"Every one to his place, and place them in the house of God." When I saw this statement, it truly reminded me that God has a special place for all of us...even all the vessels and resources, God has a plan for all of it! If anyone is feeling out of place or not sure where they belong, the house of God is that place! Also, if we are sure of ourselves and we don't have a connection to Jesus, we might want to re-examine things a little! God helps to order & structure our lives the minute we find our place in Him!

"Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way."

Ezra 8:31

It was in that place that God's people were protected from the enemy! They were on the journey to the building, but they were still a church on the way! Instead of relying on the favor of other kingdoms to protect them, they relied on the Spiritual & divine favor of God upon them, and God was right there in that place with them to protect them!

"Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes." John 21:7‭-‬8

After Jesus died & rose again, Jesus appeared at different times to His disciples. But in the meantime, they went back to their old place. Their old jobs. Their old missions...instead of following the great commission of telling people about Jesus! When they saw Jesus on the shore, Peter jumped into the sea and remembered his calling & his place in The Lord. God had something far greater planned for Him, for them, and for all of us! Spend time in His presence, and pray into your place!
