Follow the Doctor's Orders

Based on Leviticus 13-15

"This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall, And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house, And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot: To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy." Leviticus 14:54‭-‬57.

SPOILER ALERT! The best doctor is GOD! He is the Great Physician! He existed before any disease existed! He existed before WebMD could give us false diagnoses! The above-listed laws gave God's people the instructions they needed to deal with different diseases, especially the disease of leprosy, which could infect people, clothing, and even homes! In fact, modern medicine today would not be possible with having gone back to study the past. God has the remedies we need for our soul & body. Just follow the Doctor's orders!

"And if, when the priest seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil." Leviticus 13:20.

Not only were priests assigned to ministerial duties, but God also gave priests the authority to help people be healed of their diseases! In God's eyes, church & "normal life" were not separate. Remember, it's about being clean, or unclean. Holy, or unholy. God never meant for us to be sick. He never meant for us to sin either! So both situations need to be solved & healed by God, and God works through those He has placed in authority.

"And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning." Leviticus 13:28.

Just look at the precision of God' Word! The diagnosis was down to the finest detail! God also provided the differences between serious diseases and simple inflammatory situations (unlike WebMD or Google which makes everything seem like a life or death situation!).

"All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be." Leviticus 13:46.

God also listed the situations in which someone should be "quarantined" or "hospitalized." God knows the depths of our hearts and the severity of our diseases!

Leviticus 14 talks about sacrifices, because remember, healing is a God thing too! The cleansing process is only completed with a specific sacrifice!

God even warns of the spread of infections:

"And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness. Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean." Leviticus 15:3‭-‬4.

How often do we thank God when we are healed? How often do we pray to God while we are sick and suffering? Remember, before you listen to the negative report from your local doctor, listen to our heavenly Doctor & Father! Not only does He know better, but He causes miraculous healings to take place!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
